PROCESS FOR EXTRA-CURRICULAR ADDITIONS 1. ACTIVITIES DIRECTOR/ATHLETIC DIRECTOR REVIEW Proposal will be presented to the Activities Director/Athletic Director and at the same time the process for adding activities will be discussed. 2. ADMINISTRATIVE REVIEW Proposal will be presented to the principal(s) and superintendent and at the same time the process for adding activities will be discussed. 3. SCHOOL BOARD INTRODUCTION Initial introduction to the School Board by the proposer and by the Activities Director/Athletic Director will include documentation of student interest. A general review of activity will be presented along with a statement of need. 4. BOARD REVIEW OF INFORMATION COLLECTED Information for Board consideration will be collected and submitted to the Board of Education at least two weeks prior to formal Board consideration. This information will include at least the following information: A. Evidence of student interest survey. B. Evidence of other activity advisors input and comments. C. Evidence of meeting with Activities Director/Athletic Director. D. Impact on other activities, staff, students, facility scheduling, funding, and Master Agreements. E. Job description of advisor and proposed placement on salary schedule. F. Master Agreement questions and timelines. G. Statement as to what makes this activity special or necessary and involvement of HVL conference schools and other schools in the area. 5. BOARD REVIEW AND DISCUSSION Board will review all information collected and discuss at a working session. No formal Board action will take place until the regular business meeting held monthly. 6. BOARD ACTION At a regular business meeting, the Board will take action on the request. |
