Stewartville Public Schools; Independent District 534 Compensation Plan for Substitutes Teachers Non Staff Substitutes (These are daily rates) $100.00 for more than four hours $ 50.00 for four hours or less $105.00 if retired from Stewartville Schools (more than four hours) $ 52.50 if retired from Stewartville Schools (four hours or less) $110.00 for any days over 50 in a school year $120.00 for any days over 100 in a school year $15.00 additional compensation if substitute teacher subs for the entire day and an extra class period beyond the daily schedule of the teacher the substitute is teaching for. Long-term Substitute – Beginning the 31st consecutive day of substitute teaching in the same position, the daily rate is based upon the compensation schedule for BA, Step 1,in the Master Agreement with Stewartville United Educators. After completing one semester in the same position, the substitute teacher qualifies for the fringe benefits available for all teachers in the Master Agreement with Stewartville United Educators. Long-term “Full Responsibility” substitute teachers – Licensed personnel who are experienced in the area in which they are assigned will be compensated at a rate determined by the superintendent. Long-term “Full Responsibility” refers to preparing for classes, grading, report cards, parent-teacher conferences, etc. Non staff substitute teachers who sub for a paraprofessional will be paid $10.00 an hour. Staff Substitutes Less than full-time teachers who substitute for another teacher during their “unassigned” time will be paid $15.00 an hour. Less than full-time teachers who sub for a paraprofessional during their “unassigned” periods will be paid $10.00 an hour. Compensatory time will not be an option. Support staff (holding a teaching license) who sub as a licensed substitute teacher will be paid $15/hr. for working less than a full day. Support Staff Non Staff Substitutes Will be paid $10.00 per hour Staff Substitutes 1. An employee who subs for another employee within the same job classification will be paid at their current rate of pay. 2. An employee who subs for another employee outside of their job classification during their regular work hours, will receive their current rate of pay. 3. An employee who subs for another employee outside of their job classification will be paid $10.00 an hour for the hours beyond their normal workday. 4. An employee (holding a teaching license) who subs as a licensed substitute teacher will be paid $15/hr. for working less than a full day. Custodians Subs Will be paid at Step 1 of the current Custodian Salary Schedule. Background Checks Background checks for retired ISD #534 staff, who want to substitute, will be paid by the school district. |
