592 ASSIGNMENT TO CLASS |
Adopted: 6/28/04 Stewartville School District Policy 592 Revised: 592 ASSIGNMENT TO CLASS I. In order to assure a new student’s assignment to the class level best suited to his or her needs placement shall be at the discretion of the principal working in cooperation with school specialists and the student’s parents or guardian. II. Placements shall be based on the following considerations: A. Age, health, and maturity; B. Quality and extent of his or her previous training; C. Records in writing from his or her previous school; D. Evaluation of standardized test results, as needed. III. Transfers shall be honored as to the student’s grade placement until such time as there may be evidence that the student would be better placed in another grade.
