Adopted: 6/28/04 Stewartville School District Policy 593 Revised: 593 POST-SECONDARY ENROLLMENT OPTION CREDITS I. High school credit equivalency for post-secondary credits is as follows: A. State Vocational Technical Institute credits equated on a one-to-one basis. B. College credits: 1. Nine quarter-hour college credits equal one high school credit. 2. Six semester-hour college credits equal one high school credit. 3. One private college course credit equals two-thirds of one high school credit. II. High school credit for coursework done at the high school will be as follows: A. Transfer from a high school course to the same course at a post-secondary school: 1. The student must continue the high school course in addition to the college course until the end of the high school semester to receive 1/2 credit. 2. The student will receive a “W” (withdrew) for a high school course that is dropped before the end of the semester and does not earn any high school credit. B. Transfer from high school to post-secondary and enroll in a different class or class. 1. The student may transfer to post-secondary and drop high school classes. 2.
