Adopted: 6/28/04 Stewartville School District Policy 599 Revised: 599 STUDENT PHOTOGRAPHS I. This policy governing the taking of student pictures by commercial photographers in the schools provides the following rules and regulations: A. The principal of each school will determine whether or not pictures of the student body will be taken. B. There will be a written contract for not more than two years. C. The principal will determine whether individual or group pictures or both will be taken. D. All contracts will be made by the principals of the schools. E. There must be a yearly open-cost quotation for all contracts. F. All proceeds due to the school for administration and supervision of the project must be expended for general school purposes for the direct benefit of the students. G. All money received, expended, and/or deposited by the school will be recorded and a report submitted in writing to the superintendent. H. No part of the proceeds may be used to reimburse school employees for services rendered. I. No student may be required to purchase pictures. J. Interruption of classroom activity will be kept at a minimum. K. Photographers wishing to contact principals about a contract must first obtain permission from the Superintendent of Schools.
